金装律师S01E02学习笔记:关于Harvey’s time
看美剧学英语:金装律师S01E02关于Mike反驳Harvey时间价值的一段对话:
Episode: Errors and Omissions (S01E02)
Harvey: If you keep talking, I’m gonna start billing you, and my time runs a thousand dollars an hour.
Mike: But isn’t this our time, Mr. Hand?
Harvey: I stand corrected. Your Fast Times at Ridgemont High quote proves you belong at the adult table. (Harvey’s sarcasm is always, always, ALWAYS for the win.)
Mike:Hey, that’s a great movie and it spoke to a generation!
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a Cameron Crowe (卡梅伦·克罗) film in 1982 starring a long-haired Sean Penn. In the movie, Mr. Hand is the strict history teacher of Spicoli, Sean Penn’s character. Spicoli orders a pizza during their history class, which prompts the following exchange:
Mr. Hand: Mr. Spicoli, you’re on dangerous ground here. You’re causing a major disturbance on my time.
Spicoli: I’ve been thinking about this, Mr. Hand. If I’m here, and you’re here, doesn’t that make it our time? I certainly did nothing wrong with a little feast on.
Mr. Hand then goes along with it and indicates that the rest of the class also share that time, and should therefore share the pizza. This meme is so funny as both Mr. Hand and Harvey were quick to turn their students’ words back at them.
